Local residents and businesses within 500 feet of the Lowry Avenue Bridge must remain in their dwellings and say clear of any window between 8:00 am and the conclusion of the implosion event. Prior to 8:00 am, you may elect to leave your dwelling and relocate outside the 1000 foot "General Public Exclusion Zone."
The command center will begin observation and final clearance of the "Exclusion Zone" at 8:00 AM. Once the area is secured, there will be a warning siren 10 minutes, 5 minutes, and 1 minute prior to the implosion. The actual final countdown is expected at 9:00 AM.
An all clear directive will be issued to the Minneapolis Police after the implosion - at that time, the streets will be reopened and residents and businesses can resume normal activities."
It looks like the weather will cooperate so no need to deal with any contingency. See you Sunday.

Minneapolis has its Comprehensive Plan - a long-term vision for growth and physical development of the city. It is a policy framework that guides planning, zoning, and development decisions; decisions about where growth will occur and what type of growth it is; decisions that are made 'downtown'.
The Bottineau Neighborhood Association is creating a similar and clearly smaller scale plan for the Bottineau neighborhood and nearby areas. Our plan will include a greater level of detail than the City's Plan. Where the Comprehensive Plan might say 'urban neighborhood' our plan might say single family homes with detached garages, front porches and white picket fences. Where the Comprehensive Plan might say 'neighborhood commercial node' our plan might say small cafes with outdoor seating and plenty of unobstructed window space. You get the idea.
If we do our work well, our plan - your plan - will be adopted by the Minneapolis City Council as an official addition to the City's Comprehensive Plan. That means the vision we create for the neighborhood will become the policy framework used for those planning, zoning, and development decisions that will be made.
